Is there a price on the car?

    • Matt McNeil on March 5, 2014 at 5:04 am

We price cars and precious metals the day before the sale itself each time, Ainslee.

When I get an email about a sale, it would be nice to see the dates of the sale in the email, instead of having to go to the web site for that very important detail. Thank you.

    • Matt McNeil on March 5, 2014 at 5:11 am

      Thanks for the feedback, Mark.

There are two reasons we don’t put all the sale information in each e-mail blast. I’m glad you asked about that.

First, it’s very easy to fill up a small space with text, and most marketers will tell you to keep your message short and sweet. Serious customers will, studies show, continue on for more information. Second, we track all our e-mails — who opened, who didn’t open, who clicked, who didn’t click, et cetera. Without a click-through, we have no clear way of knowing how many of our customers are getting our e-mail notices and reading them.

We look forward to seeing you this weekend in Bethany’s Brownsville neighborhood!

      Best regards,
      Matt McNeil, ISA CAPP

I find that pictures of the family that this Estate belongs to are distracting and unnecessary. I think that 99% of the people viewing these pictures are interested only in the treasures that are for sale, not in the history of the family and their awards, etc. Not to be disrespectful, but this IS an estate sale, not a family album.

    • Matt McNeil on March 5, 2014 at 5:02 am

      Dear Joyce:

      Thanks for the feedback.

I’m sorry that you don’t like the family touches; however, the vast majority of customers who write me have very, very positive things to say about the things we add in about the families themselves.

Furthermore, we don’t really add them for the public in the first place, but as little memorials for the client’s sake. (Remember, it’s often very hard for the family members to let these things go. Personalizing it eases them through the process.)

Occasionally, I have a client who asks that we use no family information whatsoever, and that’s fine, too. At the end of the day, it’s all about providing my client and customers alike with a good work product.

I’m sorry we won’t see eye to eye on this subject, but do hope you’ll continue to shop with us for your own treasures for many years to come.

      Best regards
      Matt McNeil, ISA CAPP

i doubt that i am a “1-percenter” when it comes to my opinion of the inclusion of personal info in your slideshows. i am humbled and honored by being allowed into these homes that reflect the lives of real people, and feel that they are in turn being honored by having something of their story told to those of us who are taking their treasured belongings to our homes. you provide a valuable service to the families left behind, and the stories interspersed in the slideshows are a tribute to their loved ones.

    • Matt McNeil on March 5, 2014 at 7:53 pm

      Thank you, Denise!

It’s been a long, hard, rainy day over in our neck of the woods, but your kind note just made me smile from ear to ear.

      Thank you for that!

      Fond regards,
      Matt McNeil, ISA CAPP
