My suggestion for the mannequin’s name is Mariel.
Also, you have Judge’s middle initial incorrect- it’s not Lawrence J- it.s Lawrence E (for Edward) – his friends called him Ed.
Thanks for including the Walsh’s pics to personalize it. The pictures are beautiful.

    • Matt McNeil on July 29, 2014 at 6:09 am

Thanks for the compliment, and for the mannequin’s name suggestion.
(Perhaps you’ll win the $50 gift card to 42nd Street Candy Company!)

By the way, I’ve removed the mislabeled photo in question — my apologies for the error.

Thanks again for your kind words.

See you this weekend at 1902 Bedford Drive!

      Best regards,

I think she looks like a Cynthia. This looks like it will be a beautiful Estate Sale.

    • Matt McNeil on July 30, 2014 at 6:23 am

      “Cynthia,” huh?

      I like it!

We’ll announce the winner on the website on Monday, then e-mail the winner.
We’ll also include the winner’s name among the pics for the next weekend’s sale.

      Best regards,

I think it would be wonderful if you invited moving
people to linger outside your sale. It would be so
beneficial to those of us who can not transport larger
pieces of furniture. You would not have to be associated
with the movers. they could be engaged privately.

    • Matt McNeil on July 30, 2014 at 6:22 am

      Dear Jeri:

It’s funny you should ask that — we’re getting ready to give that a whirl!

His (the mover’s) name is Steve; he’ll be there on Friday and Saturday.

      Great minds think alike!

See you bright and early on Friday!

      Best regards,

The mannequin’s name should be something classy. I, of course, couldn’t pick just one name. Olive, Violet, Nicole or maybe Caroline.

    • Matt McNeil on July 31, 2014 at 5:24 am

I like all your suggestions, KaTinka!

I’ll bring all the names up for a vote among my crew members late Sunday.

We’ll have a contest winner named by Monday, and will announce it among the preview pics that will immediately follow the Walsh sale.
(You’re going to LOVE the sale slated for 9 & 10 August –it’s FILLED with Mid-Century Modern kitsch and oodles of fine jewelry!)

      Best regards,

What a beautiful sale! I can’t wait to see these amazing pieces in person! When I saw the mannequin the first name I thought of was Evangeline, a different name for a different beauty : )

  6. Renee Mungle on July 31, 2014 at 12:23 pm

Estella comes to mind for the mannequin since she appears to be watching over the estates of others. Love your sales BTW.

  7. Carl Beyer on July 31, 2014 at 8:31 pm

I think the mannequin looks like a Gertie, she seems like a lot of fun and very spunky.

    • Matt McNeil on August 3, 2014 at 4:35 am

I’m pretty sure that I have more than one “Gertie” in my family tree, Carl. (No, seriously.)

      Good choice!

      Fondly,
      M

  8. Doris Poole on August 1, 2014 at 12:34 am

My daughter travels to Paris often and said her name should be “Martine,” as she reminds her of a friend who was part of the 1960’s art scene.

    • Matt McNeil on August 3, 2014 at 4:34 am

      Oooooh — “Martine!”

Oui, C’est un nom qui est très français, Doris!
